This full-time position is based in Dar es Salaam, and the selected candidate will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the bank’s core banking system, ensuring smooth and secure banking operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Core Banking Application Specialist, you will be responsible for the following tasks:
System Administration: Administer and maintain the core banking application to ensure its reliability, availability, and performance.
Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance, troubleshoot any issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
System Upgrades: Implement system upgrades and patches while minimizing disruption to banking services.
Technical Support: Provide support to end-users, troubleshoot issues, and act as the primary contact for system-related queries.
Vendor Collaboration: Coordinate with software vendors for advanced technical support and issue resolution.
System Configuration: Customize and configure the core banking system according to business requirements and regulatory standards.
Testing & Integration: Plan, execute, and oversee testing for new features, system updates, and integrations to ensure smooth and efficient operation.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation on system configurations, processes, and procedures.
User Training: Provide training and support to bank staff on the core banking system’s functionalities.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the core banking system complies with industry regulations and best practices.
Security: Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive banking data and ensure system integrity.
Project Management: Participate in and manage projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience managing and supporting core banking applications or similar financial systems.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Oracle FLEXCUBE, SQL, and system integration concepts.
Banking Knowledge: Familiarity with banking processes, products, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or ITIL would be a plus.
Project Management Experience: Experience with project management methodologies and tools is an added advantage.
