Position Overview
Position Title: Coordinator 2 - Logistics
Department: Finance & Supply Chain
Contract Type: Unspecified Time Contract
Reporting To: Senior Supervisor - Logistics
Number of Positions: One (1)
Purpose of the Role:
The Coordinator 2 - Logistics is responsible for ensuring the effective movement, distribution, and safe receipt of supplies and materials. You will coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure timely clearance of shipments, compliance with customs regulations, and maintain a positive relationship with government bodies and freight forwarders.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Materials Management or Logistics Management.
- Registration: Must be registered with the PSPTB.
Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in warehouse and logistics management within the mining or large-scale industries.
- Proficient with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, preferably SAP.
- Demonstrated experience in the clearing and forwarding industry.
Key Responsibilities
As the Coordinator 2 - Logistics, your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and managing shipment clearance processes and coordinating with relevant authorities.
- Ensuring safety rules are adhered to by freight forwarders and preparing critical item reports.
- Responding to logistics queries in a timely manner and managing local deliveries.
- Ensuring proper documentation for both imports and exports and timely port clearance.
- Maintaining relationships with shipping companies and addressing any issues with shipments.
Additional Requirements
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward end-users and suppliers.
- Strong leadership, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
