Vacancies at Six Rivers Africa (SRA):1. Procurement Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam
Start Date: Immediately
Reports To: Procurement Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and evaluating suppliers to ensure the best quality, cost, and service.
  • Negotiating favorable contract terms and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Managing procurement processes from order placement to delivery.
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring supplier performance meets required standards.
  • Preparing procurement documentation and maintaining supplier relationships.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably in an NGO setting.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills, with a keen understanding of supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • CPSP (T) or MCIPS certification is an advantage.

2. Assistant Beekeeper

Location: Ifakara, Morogoro
Start Date: Immediately

Job Purpose:

As an Assistant Beekeeper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health of bee colonies, managing hive conditions, and ensuring the successful harvesting of honey. This hands-on role involves assisting the Head Beekeeper in day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing the beekeeping plan and managing hives as per guidelines.
  • Training and mentoring local beehive shepherds from the community.
  • Harvesting honey and maintaining daily/weekly activity records.
  • Reporting progress to the bee manager and supporting the overall success of the project.

Requirements:

  • Education in Botany, Zoology, Environmental Studies, or Wildlife Management (high school diploma or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in beekeeping is preferred.
  • Physical ability to manage hive boxes, walk in fields, and work outdoors.
  • Calm demeanor around bees and basic mechanical skills for equipment handling.
