About the Role

As a Technical Lead, you will work closely with the Country Director, overseeing the implementation of all WAM operations in accordance with International Ammunition Technical Guidelines (IATGs) and Modular Small-arms-control Implementation Compendium (MOSAICs) standards. You’ll be a key member of the Senior Management Team, shaping MAG’s programmatic direction in East Africa and building strong relationships with national authorities and Security and Defence Forces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct technical risk assessments and provide technical oversight of WAM projects.
  • Lead weapons and munition destruction, PSSM training, and rehabilitation/construction projects.
  • Support proposal development and reporting by contributing technical knowledge and clearance targets.
  • Liaise with national authorities and MAG’s Programme Quality Team to align in-country activities with organizational standards.

About You

We’re looking for a candidate with:

  • WAM/SALW/PSSM operational experience in conflict-affected countries.
  • An EOD 3 IMAS qualification with hands-on experience in field operations and bulk demolitions.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing diverse teams and mentoring staff.
  • Strong ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships diplomatically.
