About Unitrans Tanzania Limited:
Unitrans Tanzania Limited is subcontracted to support various agricultural operations for the sugar industry in the Morogoro Region. They are currently seeking qualified and experienced candidates to join their team as a Driver Trainer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct practical driver skills assessments for new hires.
- Assist in incident/accident investigations and recommend necessary training.
- Identify training needs and conduct retraining to meet performance standards.
- Present training sessions, ensuring clarity in course content and learner understanding.
- Perform on-route evaluations and regular in-cab assessments of drivers.
- Develop short and long-term training plans in collaboration with the HRD coordinator.
- Provide on-the-job training for operators and drivers, improving safety and efficiency.
- Ensure that no employee operates machinery without proper training and competency.
- Conduct monthly inspections using a checklist to identify potential hazards.
- Liaise with Safety, Health, and Environmental Representatives.
- Report on training activities and fuel/oil usage.
Minimum Requirements:
- Secondary education with a Trainer certificate/Driver instructor certificate.
- Defensive driving training certificate is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Driver Trainer.
- Ability to operate various machinery, particularly Lory-Long trucks, tractors, graders/excavators, and Bell tractors.
- Verified driving license with classes E, G, F.
- Strong knowledge of the Road Traffic Act and its regulations.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- OSHA-related trainings.
- Must be a Tanzanian citizen and not older than 45 years.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a high level of integrity.
- Self-motivated and capable of inspiring others.
