Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), a global nonprofit research organization, is seeking a highly motivated Program Coordinator to join their dynamic team. About the Role

The Program Coordinator will play a key role in providing administrative and communications support to IPA’s Financial Inclusion Program (FIP) and the Human Trafficking Research Initiative (HTRI). Additionally, the coordinator will assist with general administrative duties for the wider Sector Programs team, ensuring smooth operations and helping to push the boundaries of global research. This role is especially suited for candidates with a passion for program management, operational excellence, and evidence-driven solutions to global poverty.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support for Financial Inclusion and Human Trafficking Programs (90%)

    • Work closely with IPA’s Grants team to manage grant agreements and funding allocations.
    • Track ongoing research projects, including deliverables and finances.
    • Handle administrative tasks such as consultant agreements and payment processing.
    • Assist in managing HTRI’s research fund and FIP’s Consumer Protection Research Initiative.
    • Support grantee communications, schedule webinars, and draft project summaries.
    • Help plan events to disseminate new research findings to a wider audience.
  2. Sector Programs Administration and Event Planning (10%)

    • Assist with financial tasks such as cost transfers and payment requests.
    • Support team meetings, annual retreats, and other key events.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, public policy, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of work or internship experience in research, international development, policy, or program administration.
  • Skills:
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
    • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite, particularly in managing spreadsheets.
    • Self-motivation, flexibility, and a team-oriented attitude.
    • Interest in topics related to financial inclusion, human trafficking, or broader development issues is a plus.
