Are you passionate about using data to drive impactful health programs? Jhpiego, a leading global health organization affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, is seeking Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officers to join the team supporting the Reaching Impact, Saturation, and Epidemic Control (RISE) Project in Tanzania. This USAID and PEPFAR-funded project focuses on expanding Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision (VMMC) services to curb HIV transmission in the regions of Iringa, Morogoro, Njombe, Singida, and Tabora.
What’s the Role?
As an M&E Officer, you'll lead data-driven decision-making and promote innovative strategies to enhance the program’s impact. Working closely with local health teams, you’ll oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of key performance data to ensure project success. This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise in monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) to a role where your work will directly contribute to improving health outcomes in Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the project’s VMMC database to track progress and meet reporting requirements.
- Oversee the use of national and donor databases like DHIS2 and PEPFAR DATIM to ensure timely data reporting.
- Conduct data analysis and support data-driven decision-making at regional and national levels.
- Participate in project review meetings and collaborate with regional and national health teams to promote best practices.
- Provide real-time data insights to the team, enabling quick resolution of barriers and enhancing project outcomes.
What Are We Looking For?
- A degree in information/data science, biostatistics, health informatics, or similar.
- 5 years’ experience in M&E, particularly in HIV prevention programs (experience in VMMC is a plus).
- Strong familiarity with DHIS2, DATIM, and PowerBi for data management and analysis.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in Kiswahili and English.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to project-supported regions.
If you have a passion for data, a drive to make a difference in health outcomes, and the skills to work in a dynamic environment, this could be the perfect role for you!
