Overview of PSI Tanzania Population Services International (PSI) is seeking a Technical Director for a three-year malaria elimination project in Zanzibar. PSI, a global organization focused on consumer-powered healthcare, has worked to advance health solutions and expand access to affordable care worldwide. The new project aims to eliminate malaria through strategic health interventions and community engagement.
Job Role and Responsibilities The Technical Director will oversee the technical, financial, and administrative components of the project. Responsibilities include:
Program Leadership: Ensure timely implementation of project activities, manage finances, and maintain compliance with donor regulations.
Technical Oversight: Provide expertise to ensure effective, locally-responsive malaria interventions, coordinating with donors, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
People and Relationship Management: Lead the project team, set performance objectives, and maintain strong relationships with partners, including the Zanzibar Ministry of Health and WHO.
Donor Liaison: Act as the main point of contact with the Gates Foundation and other donors.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (MSc, MPH, MBA, MHA, MPA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of experience in relevant fields such as entomology or epidemiology.
- At least 7 years of program management experience in global health, preferably in low or middle-income countries.
- Skills in data interpretation, stakeholder coordination, and strategic planning.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili.
