Are you passionate about data management and making a difference in the lives of vulnerable communities? The National Youth Information Centre (NICE) Tanzania has an incredible opportunity for you! We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Data Officer to join our team and contribute to a life-changing initiative in the fight against HIV/AIDS.

About NICE

The National Youth Information Centre (NICE) is a local non-governmental and non-profit organization founded in 2001. We have been working tirelessly to empower the youth of Tanzania to make informed decisions about their lives through education, training, and advocacy. With a focus on building a healthier and more informed youth population, our projects target key issues such as HIV prevention, adherence support, and family planning.

Based in Mbeya, NICE works closely with the Tanzanian government, the Ministry of Health, and international partners like FHI360. One of our core projects, the Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control (EpiC), is funded by PEPFAR and USAID. This project plays a critical role in supporting Tanzania's progress towards achieving HIV epidemic control and reaching the global 95-95-95 targets.

About the Data Officer Role

We are seeking a Data Officer to support our efforts in the Madaba District, Ruvuma Region, by ensuring high-quality data management in our HIV prevention and support programs. This is a full-time position on a one-year contract with the possibility of renewal. You will be reporting to the Data Manager and working in close collaboration with our technical and program teams.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Data Management: Ensure client records are accurately updated in the NICE database and the DHIS2 Data Entry Tracker on a daily basis.
  • Data Confidentiality: Monitor and store all client records according to national guidelines for confidential information storage.
  • Report Generation: Produce high-quality project reports and enter them into program reporting systems on time.
  • Data Analysis: Conduct routine analysis of HIV/AIDS indicators on a monthly/quarterly basis and share findings with the NICE team to aid in decision-making.
  • Data Integrity: Participate in internal data quality assessments and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Training & Support: Provide on-the-job data management training to volunteers and NICE technical staff.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a globally recognized project and make a lasting impact in Tanzania's HIV response, especially among vulnerable groups such as adolescent girls and young women.
