Key Responsibilities
As a Mining Engineer, your duties will include:
1. Submitting key performance indicator (KPI) reports on safety and environmental metrics for mining and haulage operations.
2. Conducting monthly volumetric surveys and updating topographical maps.
3. Developing short-term mining plans to ensure adherence to pit designs and managing stripping ratios to avoid contamination of ore and waste materials.
4. Supervising drilling and blasting operations in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
5. Ensuring the quality and quantity of materials loaded meet plan requirements.
6. Collaborating with service providers to reconcile reports on mining and haulage activities.
7. Promoting compliance with OSHA standards, safety protocols, and environmental management systems.
8. Adhering to the HC Group Code of Business Conduct and company compliance policies.
9. Undertaking additional responsibilities assigned by the Mines Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in surface mining operations, with a valid blasting certificate.
- Expertise in drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling activities.
- Proficiency in mining software, survey tools, and MS Office applications.
- Strong leadership, organizational, budgeting, and planning abilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA compliance and safety management.
