About the Role
As the Head of Local Large Corporates, you will be an integral part of the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) team, responsible for managing relationships with some of Tanzania’s largest local and regional corporations. This role involves:
- Relationship Management: Building and sustaining strong relationships with corporate clients, understanding their needs, and aligning ABSA’s products to meet those needs.
- Business Development: Driving revenue growth by expanding ABSA’s market share within the corporate segment and deepening existing client relationships.
- Team Leadership: Inspiring and leading a high-performing team of relationship managers and corporate banking professionals.
- Risk Management: Ensuring adherence to risk management frameworks and promoting a positive risk culture within the team.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll spend most of your time (75%) focused on sales and service, actively engaging with clients to offer tailored solutions. Additional responsibilities include overseeing business management tasks, such as performance monitoring and strategy development, as well as managing and coaching team members to deliver exceptional service.
What Skills Do You Need?
To excel, you'll need excellent relationship management skills, strong business development abilities, and a good understanding of corporate banking practices. ABSA is looking for someone with:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field (a Master’s degree is an added advantage).
- At least 10 years of experience in corporate banking within emerging markets.
