About the Role
The Royal Danish Embassy in Dar es Salaam has a rich history of collaboration with Tanzania, beginning in 1963. Over six decades, Denmark has contributed significantly to Tanzania's socio-economic growth, fostering strong bonds between our nations through Danida's development initiatives.
As Tanzania’s role on the global stage evolves, Denmark is shifting its focus to broader partnerships. These include government-to-government collaboration, enhanced trade and investment relations, and meaningful political dialogues on global and bilateral issues.
To support this dynamic partnership, we are seeking a creative, motivated, and skilled communicator. If you excel in social media, have a flair for writing, and can produce compelling audio-visual content, we offer an engaging environment where you’ll collaborate with diverse teams to elevate the Embassy’s public diplomacy efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Content Development: Curate and prioritize engaging content for the Embassy’s public platforms, including social media, website, and intranet.
- Audio-Visual Production: Create visually appealing and impactful multimedia content to showcase Denmark-Tanzania development initiatives.
- Outreach: Plan and execute timely, targeted communications for key events and activities.
- Speech Writing and Articles: Draft speeches and write articles highlighting the Danish-Tanzanian partnership for various platforms.
- Networking and Collaboration: Build relationships with communications professionals, cultural attachés, and colleagues from EU embassies and international organizations.
- Cultural Project Management: Oversee cultural initiatives and contribute to the success of events like Nordic Week.
- Event Organization: Support planning and execution of high-level visits and public diplomacy events.
- News Monitoring: Stay updated on local and international news relevant to the Embassy’s mission.
About You
We are looking for a passionate communicator with a creative mindset, strong work ethic, and ability to adapt to changing priorities. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-driven, and a team player.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven track record in public communication, public diplomacy campaigns, or events.
- Language Skills: Proficiency in English and Kiswahili (Danish language skills are a bonus).
- Skills: Creative writing, visual storytelling, and content development.
- Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or within a team.

Employment Conditions
- Full-time position with the possibility of a permanent contract, adhering to Tanzanian labor laws and Danish Foreign Ministry policies.
- The selected candidate must present a “No Criminal Record” certificate and pass a security clearance conducted by Danish authorities before appointment.
