Position Overview

Job Title: Project Accountant (2 Positions)

Location: Dar es Salaam

Reports To: Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Accountant, your role will include:

1. Financial Operations: Assist in processing payments, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with Ciheb Tanzania’s policies.

2. Documentation Management: Verify, organize, and file financial documents, including invoices and participant payment records.

3. Reconciliations: Collaborate with the Finance Manager on monthly bank and account reconciliations.

4. Petty Cash Handling: Process daily transactions, manage cash replenishments, and document cash count sheets.

5. Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns on time.

6. Administrative Support: Manage photocopying, scanning, and submission of documents to banks as needed.

7. Reporting and Support: Provide additional financial and administrative support as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or an equivalent field.

Experience: At least three years of accounting experience, preferably with international or donor-funded projects.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks or other ERP systems, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Soft Skills: Strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to work under pressure.

Language Proficiency: Fluency in English (spoken and written).
