Position Title: Reconciliation Analyst – M-Pesa and Government Integrated Systems

Role Overview:

The Reconciliation Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring seamless M-Pesa transaction reconciliation while overseeing data accuracy and resolving discrepancies across internal and external accounts. The position also involves managing and reconciling data transmission to government systems efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Reconciliation:

  • Perform daily checks on data transmitted to government systems, identifying and addressing any inconsistencies.
  • Ensure data alignment between source systems and final outputs, resolving discrepancies swiftly.

M-Pesa Transaction Management:

  • Analyze and reconcile M-Pesa transactions for both internal and external accounts.
  • Collaborate with third parties and government stakeholders to address and resolve transaction-related issues promptly.

Reporting & Monitoring:

  • Design and maintain reconciliation processes with a focus on data integrity.
  • Generate comprehensive reconciliation reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

System Administration:

  • Manage the security, functionality, and operations of systems within the Intelligence and Data division.
  • Develop and implement Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plans (DRP) for relevant systems.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Technical Expertise:

  • Advanced knowledge of programming and SQL, with proven ability to write and optimize queries.
  • Proficiency in data integration via APIs and ETL processes, including expertise in Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Competence in data visualization platforms such as Power BI.
  • Strong command of MS Office tools, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Key Competencies:

  • Exceptional attention to detail to ensure data accuracy in reconciliation.
  • Ability to handle and analyze large datasets efficiently.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Resilience under pressure, with excellent multitasking and task prioritization abilities.

Performance Metrics:

  • Ensure end-to-end reconciliation of all authorized M-Pesa transactions.
  • Achieve timely and accurate reconciliation of transmitted data in government integrated systems.
  • Maintain effective communication with third parties to facilitate issue resolution.
  • Guarantee consistent system uptime and optimal operational performance.
