Position: Communications Assistant

Jhpiego Tanzania is seeking a dynamic Communications Assistant to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Communications team to enhance Jhpiego Tanzania’s visibility by supporting media relations, government outreach, corporate publications, online content management, and social media engagement. Your contributions will help document and share project successes while ensuring adherence to branding and marking standards.

This role focuses on supporting three key programs: Pfizer Foundation, RISE, and TCI, while also contributing to other projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Communications team to develop and execute strategies that increase Jhpiego’s visibility.
  • Lead the documentation and dissemination of project successes.
  • Oversee and maintain internal knowledge management systems within project consortiums.
  • Ensure all staff and stakeholders adhere to the Project’s Branding and Marking Plan.
  • Manage online content and social media platforms.
  • Support the creation of corporate publications and internal communication materials.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience: 2-3 years in corporate communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, or public health.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Creative mindset with a strong eye for design and detail.
  • Proficiency in design and editing tools (e.g., Photoshop) is a plus.
  • Skills in videography and photography are highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with digital journalism and storytelling techniques.
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time.
