About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated E T Consultant - GFF Country Coordinator to join our Human Development Practice Group (HD PG) and make a measurable impact on health outcomes in Tanzania. This role is integral to advancing the objectives of the Global Financing Facility for Women, Children, and Adolescents (GFF), a partnership housed at the World Bank that works to scale up affordable, quality healthcare for vulnerable populations.
As a Country Coordinator, you will play a vital role in fostering collaboration, ensuring evidence-based investment strategies, and supporting the implementation of priority health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Investment Case Development & Costing:
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement for GFF processes with transparency.
- Assist governments in mapping stakeholders and implementing Investment Case roadmaps.
- Convene Country Platform meetings to review and finalize Investment Cases.
- Support analytical work, quality assurance, and technical expertise procurement.
2. Investment Case Implementation:
- Periodically assess priorities, progress, and outcomes of Investment Cases.
- Track sub-activities and ensure alignment with government and partner commitments.
- Monitor progress and develop dashboards for quarterly updates.
- Aid in public financial management and resource tracking to align expenditures.
3. Country Platform Functionality & Alignment:
- Identify and strengthen decision-making forums at national and subnational levels.
- Facilitate resource mapping and integration with health sector reviews.
- Promote alignment and secure financing through stakeholder engagement.
4. Communications & Advocacy:
- Create and disseminate communications (e.g., newsletters, factsheets) to inform stakeholders.
- Participate in media engagements and produce country-specific GFF overviews.
5. World Bank & GFF Support:
- Coordinate with the WB country office and task teams on GFF-related activities.
- Provide technical assistance to governments and partners.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Economics, Public Administration, or related fields.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in RMNCAHN-G, health systems strengthening, or related fields.
- Proven expertise in stakeholder coordination, data-driven decision-making, and advocacy.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced communication abilities in English (and local languages preferred).
- Knowledge of GFF, health financing, and relevant IT/data systems is advantageous.
