Key Responsibilities
1. Equipment Monitoring & Project Management
- Lead conceptual design, project scoping, and coordination of various capital projects.
- Review engineering details and ensure designs meet international standards.
- Supervise civil, structural works, equipment installation, and project commissioning.
- Develop Quality Control and Quality Assurance plans for all projects.
- Prepare and track project schedules to ensure on-time and within-budget execution.
2. Safety & Quality Oversight
- Conduct job safety analyses and risk assessments.
- Maintain Barrick’s safety standards and ensure a zero-incident project environment.
- Coordinate with contractors for permits and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Conduct regular review and safety meetings with contractors and project teams.
- Collaborate with supervisors to ensure smooth execution and site safety.
- Compile progress and cost reports, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure budget adherence.
4. Administrative Tasks
- Manage routine administrative work related to project teams and contractors.
- Oversee procurement processes, including issuing inquiries, contract finalization, and placing orders for materials.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- Registered with the Engineers Registration Board (Tanzania).
Experience
- 3–5 years of experience in capital project management.
- Minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in maintenance.
- Mining industry experience (2 years or more) is an added advantage.
Skills & Knowledge
- HV Switching License and related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio).
- Valid Tanzanian driving license.
