As part of our growth strategy, we are looking for a driven and results-oriented Relationship Officer, Business Banking to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in expanding the bank’s portfolio, ensuring a high-quality client base, and driving income growth by engaging with existing and potential clients.


Key Responsibilities

1. Portfolio Growth and Client Acquisition

  • Collaborate with Relationship and Branch Managers to drive portfolio growth through increased product volumes, new client acquisitions, and cross-selling bank services.
  • Design and implement client acquisition strategies, identifying and presenting tailored financial solutions to meet client needs.

2. Relationship Management

  • Nurture and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, proactively understanding their needs to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Identify and maintain a database of potential clients, particularly in key business sectors, refining the list in consultation with stakeholders.

3. Sales Planning and Execution

  • Participate in sales planning initiatives, leveraging marketing calls, promotions, and presentations to secure new business opportunities.
  • Meet and exceed disbursement and deposit targets, delivering consistent results aligned with the bank’s goals.

4. Compliance and Due Diligence

  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, KYC norms, and due diligence standards during account openings and other transactions.
  • Conduct pre-and post-monitoring visits to clients, evaluating their repayment capacity and financial stability.

5. Reporting and Communication

  • Prepare and submit detailed reports to the Branch Manager, including daily activity updates and follow-up records.
  • Collaborate closely with the product team to stay updated on banking solutions and provide client-specific recommendations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a sales or client management role within a financial institution.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of business banking practices in Dar es Salaam.
    • Proven selling and negotiation expertise.
    • Customer-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
