We are seeking a Head of Electric Business – Tanzania to lead the launch and growth of our electric product portfolio in the country. This role presents a unique opportunity for a mission-driven leader to contribute to shaping the future of electric cooking in Africa while playing a critical role in delivering life-changing products to communities.


Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Execution

  • Develop and implement a robust route-to-market strategy aligned with commercial objectives and carbon compliance requirements.
  • Position BURN’s electric cooking products as market leaders in Tanzania by executing tailored sales strategies and scaling operations into new regions.
  • Work closely with the Electric Leadership Team in Nairobi to align strategies and apply key learnings for maximum impact.

2. Team Building & Management

  • Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing team, including Territory Sales Managers, Team Leaders, and a network of 1,000+ Direct Sales Agents.
  • Ensure optimal team structure and staff ratios (TSM: TL: Sales Agents) per HQ guidelines.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in-country to ensure electric business objectives are met.

3. Sales & Market Growth

  • Drive sales agent recruitment and training to attract qualified customers as per predefined Customer Personas.
  • Manage KPI performance (Usage, Repayment, and Sales) across all levels, ensuring targets are consistently achieved.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to coordinate both below-the-line and above-the-line marketing campaigns.

4. Compliance & Data Management

  • Ensure adherence to carbon project Monitoring and Evaluation requirements, specifically selling electric stoves to households meeting predefined criteria.
  • Maintain strict compliance with systems and procedures, including CRM, inventory management, and cash collections.

5. Reporting & Insights

  • Produce detailed analytical reports for the management team, highlighting key performance indicators and actionable insights.
  • Provide regular market forecasts and updates on competitor activities.
  • Assist the Carbon team with feasibility studies and market research to support data-driven decisions.

6. Business Sustainability

  • Operate the Electric Business unit efficiently and profitably, ensuring optimal resource utilization and strict compliance with SOPs.

Who We’re Looking For

Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in commercial strategy implementation and market expansion in Tanzania or similar markets.
  • Proven track record of building and managing large sales teams (1000+ agents preferred).
  • Expertise in carbon compliance, customer profiling, and CRM systems.
  • Strong background in sales, marketing, and performance analysis.
