We are seeking an ambitious and professional individual to join our Security Department in the role of Specialist 1 – Investigation.

Role Purpose
The Specialist 1 – Investigation is responsible for leading all on-site investigations, managing the investigation team, and ensuring professional standards are upheld. This includes overseeing informer networks, enforcing compliance with company procedures, collaborating with law enforcement agencies, conducting audits and inspections, and safeguarding confidential records with the utmost professionalism and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the investigation unit by establishing measurable KPIs.
- Investigate all incidents of crime and procedural breaches on-site.
- Ensure timely response to crime scenes and submission of investigation reports.
- Collaborate with Human Resources for disciplinary hearings and provide material evidence for legal cases.
- Conduct internal and external security threat assessments.
- Maintain and update investigation procedures regularly.
- Ensure case records are securely stored and regularly inspected.
- Mentor and train investigation team members to enhance performance.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, VPSHR (Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights), and legal frameworks.
- Prepare concise and analytical reports and manage case dockets effectively.
- Conduct risk assessments to optimize resource allocation and mitigate hazards.
- Support team development through succession planning and training initiatives.
- Ensure section costs align with the approved budget.
Qualifications
- Advanced secondary education or higher.
- Knowledge and skills in investigation and intelligence practices.
- Valid driving license.
- Familiarity with cyber and forensic investigation techniques is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in investigation roles within the mining or extractive industries.
Additional Requirements
- Strong knowledge of investigation principles and techniques.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office applications.
- Fluency in English with excellent report writing skills.
- Demonstrated awareness of GGML, CARO, and AGA Security Management Frameworks.
- Ability to apply contemporary investigation methodologies effectively.
