Vacancy Announcement: Communications and ICT Officer at SEIDA
Are you passionate about ICT and communications? SEIDA is seeking a skilled and dynamic Communications and ICT Officer to join our team. This role is vital to the organization’s ICT service delivery and communication strategies, supporting the achievement of SEIDA’s objectives and ensuring seamless ICT operations and impactful communication.
Job Overview
As the Communications and ICT Officer, you will play a central role in managing SEIDA’s internal and external communication strategies and ICT systems. You’ll work closely with the Project Coordinator and other stakeholders to implement, coordinate, and enhance ICT and communication-related activities across SEIDA projects and programs.
Key Responsibilities
Communications Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of internal and external communication strategies.
- Establish guidelines, mechanisms, and procedures for effective communication and information exchange.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and department managers to create communication materials and share them with stakeholders, including financiers and government entities.
- Promote participatory knowledge exchange approaches to raise awareness of SEIDA’s activities at local, regional, and international levels.
- Document case studies and best practices, supporting knowledge sharing and advocacy efforts.
- Manage SEIDA’s brand and media presence by producing and distributing communication materials, including web content, publications, newsletters, and press releases.
- Oversee the production of multimedia materials such as brochures, documentaries, and promotional content, ensuring alignment with SEIDA’s branding standards.
- Monitor SEIDA’s online presence and media mentions, amplifying visibility where appropriate.
- Foster employee awareness of projects and initiatives through executive messages, internal memos, presentations, and branded materials.
- Develop advocacy campaigns and identify opportunities to engage stakeholders and build support for SEIDA’s programs.
ICT Responsibilities:
- Design and implement an effective ERP/digital systems strategy to meet SEIDA’s technological needs.
- Provide technical ICT support to staff, managing helpdesk queries and organizing ICT operations.
- Develop essential ICT documents, including business continuity plans and disaster recovery plans, in compliance with SEIDA’s ICT standards.
- Maintain data systems, ensuring accuracy and generating analytic reports for data-driven decision-making.
- Monitor and respond to information security incidents, implementing cybersecurity measures and escalating complex issues as necessary.
- Oversee the procurement and provision of ICT equipment, supplies, and services to meet organizational requirements.
- Ensure efficient implementation of ICT infrastructure, solutions, and security protocols to enhance operational effectiveness.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Information Systems, Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent from a recognized institution.
Professional Experience:
- 3–5 years of experience in Communication, Multimedia, ICT support, and system administration, with at least 3 years in a senior-level role.
- Hands-on experience in server systems, network administration, and ICT project management.
- Strong proficiency in multimedia software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, InDesign/Illustrator, or equivalent.
- Certification in Servers, Networks, and Hardware is an added advantage.
Skills and Attributes:
- Proficiency in Windows Server virtualization, MS Exchange, MS SharePoint, and firewall administration.
- Ability to develop plans, SOPs, and coordinate workflows effectively.
- Strong communication, training, and facilitation skills.
- High level of integrity, cross-cultural sensitivity, and collaborative interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
