Position: Project Manager

Sustainable Agriculture Tanzania (SAT) is a mission-driven organization committed to advancing Agroecology practices and fostering sustainable agricultural development. We are seeking a Project Manager to lead a transformative initiative, ensuring effective planning, execution, and impact assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Execution: Spearhead project planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation to ensure success.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, community leaders, and other stakeholders to align efforts with project goals.
- Team Management: Supervise and motivate a professional team and field staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Capacity Building: Oversee training programs aimed at equipping youth with essential agricultural skills and knowledge.
- Resource Oversight: Manage project budgets, resources, and expenditures to ensure accountability and financial sustainability.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Develop and implement systems to monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes, and identify areas for improvement.
- Reporting: Prepare comprehensive progress and financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Project Management: Demonstrated expertise in planning, budgeting, and coordinating complex projects.
- Leadership: Proven ability to inspire, manage, and lead teams to achieve project objectives.
- Stakeholder Relations: Strong communication and negotiation skills for building and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
- Agricultural Knowledge: Familiarity with agricultural practices, value chains, and sector-specific challenges.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Proficiency in designing and executing frameworks to track progress and outcomes.
- Problem-Solving: Aptitude for identifying challenges, devising solutions, and adapting to changing environments.
- Cultural Sensitivity: Ability to work effectively in multicultural settings, respecting diverse communities and traditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Project Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in managing agriculture or development projects.
- Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and deliver impactful results in challenging contexts.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and project management tools.
- Fluency in English and Swahili, both written and spoken.
