Reporting To: Production Manager
Location: Twiga Cement, Tanzania
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Assigned duties as determined by the Production Manager.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Management:
- Lead daily kiln operations, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
Maintenance Oversight:
- Develop and execute regular maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor kiln operators, ensuring strict adherence to safety protocols and operational procedures.
Quality Assurance:
- Continuously monitor kiln output quality, making necessary adjustments to meet production standards.
Problem-Solving:
- Rapidly identify and resolve issues affecting kiln operations to avoid production interruptions.
Record-Keeping:
- Maintain precise documentation of kiln operations, maintenance logs, and production reports.
Cross-Departmental Coordination:
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure seamless operations across the production line.
Safety Management:
- Strictly enforce safety protocols and address hazards promptly to prevent accidents or environmental incidents.
Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA standards and compliance with both statutory requirements and HC Group’s Code of Business Conduct, compliance policies, and guidelines.
Other Duties:
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Production Manager.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical and Process Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in cement manufacturing, including a minimum of 4 years specializing in clinker production lines.
- Strong leadership capabilities with proven supervisory experience.
- Excellent organizational, budgeting, and planning skills with a proactive approach.
