Key Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, your primary duties will include:
- Ensuring all activities comply with safety standards and established operating procedures.
- Reviewing project specifications, creating work schedules, and delegating tasks to appropriate teams.
- Managing projects to ensure they stay within allocated budgets and timelines.
- Identifying project phases and elements, assigning responsibilities to personnel accordingly.
- Utilizing design and visualization tools such as AutoCAD for project planning.
- Monitoring project schedules, progress, and activities while resolving any arising issues.
- Preparing detailed project status reports, analyzing data trends, and recommending corrective actions.
- Ensuring adherence to relevant codes, practices, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) policies, and performance standards.
- Overseeing project quality control, including budgets, schedules, and contractor performance, and reporting regularly on project status.
- Collaborating with the project manager and stakeholders to provide technical support and assistance.
Qualifications and Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates must have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience in project management (preferred).
- Proficiency in MS Office and MS Project tools.
- A valid driving license.
Experience and Competencies
- A minimum of five years of experience as a Project Engineer, specifically in construction projects.
- Strong mechanical engineering background, particularly in steel fabrication and erection, equipment installation, and commissioning.
