Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd, a leading beverage company, has an exciting opening within its Manufacturing Department. We’re seeking a skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a Plant Maintenance Planner. This role will be based in Mbeya, reporting directly to the Packaging Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance Planning and Coordination
- Create and manage maintenance plans following the 5-day planning cycle.
- Review emergency work orders, creating sub-orders as needed.
- Assign tasks to team members, including contractors, ensuring resources, tools, and spares are available.
- Distribute maintenance plans and work orders to the team.
- Organize and lead pre/post-maintenance meetings, updating task lists as necessary.
- Oversee autonomous maintenance and operational schedules for the unit.
- Perform time confirmations, capture technical findings, and close completed orders.
2. Continuous Improvement Initiatives
- Initiate problem-solving processes to address systemic issues and ensure closure.
- Maintain and update downtime and 5-Why boards, tracking issue resolution progress.
- Plan and oversee effective weekly and annual maintenance shutdowns.
- Conduct routine checks on Short Interval Controls (SICs) to optimize line efficiency and ensure machines run at rated speeds.
- Analyze SAP downtime data and ensure compliance with asset care standards.
- Implement and manage Engineering Change Management processes.
3. Maintenance Program Development
- Facilitate safety talks, toolbox meetings, and incident recalls.
- Ensure PPE compliance and adherence to Permit-to-Work requirements.
- Investigate and address identified safety hazards, ensuring timely closure.
- Participate in SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) meetings and incident investigations.
4. Breakdown Management
- Validate and verify breakdown content, ensuring accurate stoppage information.
- Raise corrective maintenance tasks and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
5. Spare Parts and Productivity Management
- Plan for upcoming promotions, product trials, or new processes.
- Train team members on new technologies, processes, or procedures, ensuring competence.
- Identify opportunities for productivity improvement in cost, resources, or capital investment.
- Foster problem-solving systems within the team and share benchmark learnings.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Requirements:
- Engineering degree (Mechanical or Electrical).
Experience:
- Minimum 3-5 years of production engineering experience, including 3 years in a supervisory role.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
