Are you ready to join a world-class manufacturing team at Coca-Cola Kwanza? We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Unit Manager – Packaging to join our dynamic Manufacturing Department. This role offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to our operations, working closely with the Manufacturing Manager to drive excellence in packaging production.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Business Planning
- Develop and communicate a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with CCBA’s strategic objectives.
- The plan should encompass production, quality, raw material utilization, team development, unit structure, project proposals, timelines, and equipment needs.
- Incorporate world-class manufacturing principles into all planning activities.
2. Performance Goal Setting
- Collaborate with the team to define annual performance goals that align with business objectives.
- Set measurable targets for line utilization, raw material efficiency, quality standards, and customer satisfaction.
3. Drive World Class Maturity (WCM) Initiatives
- Lead change management initiatives to adopt WCM practices.
- Develop and execute deployment plans for work practices while ensuring continuous improvement through maturity assessments.
- Benchmark internal and external best practices to enhance performance.
4. Production and Maintenance Management
- Collaborate with Team Leaders to address deviations in production, maintenance, quality, and safety standards.
- Ensure updated work instructions are available for all operations, including maintenance, safety, quality, and housekeeping.
5. Expense and Capital Budget Management
- Develop and control expense and capital budgets aligned with financial and production goals.
- Formulate budgets using benchmark-driven methodologies, including all necessary expense items.
6. Leadership and Team Development
- Actively coach and support Team Leaders to achieve departmental targets and prepare for future challenges.
- Foster trust and respect within the team, embracing diverse opinions and cultural perspectives.
7. Change Management
- Drive change initiatives by effectively communicating objectives, benefits, and progress.
- Measure the impact of change interventions and ensure full team engagement.
8. Problem-Solving and Systems Improvement
- Solve systemic issues to reduce costs, mitigate risks, and improve productivity.
- Empower team members to resolve situational problems through coaching and collaboration.
Skills, Experience, & Education
Minimum Requirements
- A Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial).
- 3–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Controller or Specialist in Packaging within an FMCG environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and analytical skills.
- High level of integrity and commitment to excellence.
