About TARURA
The Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) is an Executive Agency under the President’s Office – Regional Administration and Local Government (PO-RALG), established through Government Notice No. 211 on May 12, 2017, and officially inaugurated on July 2, 2017.
TARURA is dedicated to overseeing the development, rehabilitation, maintenance, axle load control, environmental management, and road reserve protection of both rural and urban road networks, driving Tanzania’s socio-economic growth.
The Manyara Regional Manager’s Office, on behalf of the Chief Executive, is looking for highly motivated, qualified, and competent Tanzanian candidates to fill six (6) Driver positions on a one-year temporary contract.
Position: Driver (6 Posts)
📍 Duty Stations: Babati, Mbulu, Kiteto, Simanjiro, and Hanang Districts
Minimum Qualifications:
✅ Holder of a Form IV National Certificate
✅ Possession of a valid Class ‘C1’ or ‘E’ driving license
✅ Completion of a Basic Driving Course from VETA or another recognized institution
✅ Fluent in both Kiswahili and English
✅ Must be a Tanzanian citizen
Work Experience & Age Limit:
✔ At least one (1) year of proven driving experience without causing an accident
✔ Must be 45 years old or below
Key Responsibilities:
🚗 Safely operate TARURA motor vehicles in compliance with traffic laws and regulations
🔧 Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicles are in good condition
🛠 Maintain vehicle tools and equipment, including jack, spanner, and spare tires
🧹 Keep the assigned vehicle clean and well-maintained at all times
📖 Record and maintain accurate logbook entries for all trips
📩 Assist in the collection and delivery of official documents and mail
🚨 Promptly report accidents or mechanical faults to supervisors and traffic authorities
🔑 Ensure vehicles are securely locked and parked safely
📌 Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor
Salary & Benefits
💰 Compensation will be based on the TARURA salary scale
