Role Overview

NBC is searching for a dynamic Sales Consultant to drive growth in its Micro SME & Agribusiness portfolio. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loan portfolio expansion, deposit mobilization, client relationship management, and credit underwriting to ensure NBC’s continued success in serving businesses across Tanzania.


Key Responsibilities

1. Loan Portfolio Growth & Business Expansion

✅ Identify and onboard eligible borrowing customers as per bank policies.
✅ Actively pursue business leads and convert them into lending opportunities.
✅ Negotiate and structure loan products tailored to Micro-SME & Agribusiness needs.
✅ Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure NBC’s financial solutions meet market demands.

2. Credit Underwriting & Risk Management

Review and process credit applications while ensuring compliance with standard procedures.
✅ Conduct business and collateral verification for loan applicants.
✅ Perform credit appraisals to determine applicants’ financial suitability.
✅ Address queries from the Retail Credit & Business Department to ensure seamless approval.

3. Loan Portfolio Monitoring & Recovery

✅ Monitor approved loans to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
✅ Conduct post-disbursement visits to verify proper fund utilization.
✅ Maintain accurate loan records and facilitate timely renewals of existing credit facilities.
✅ Analyze loan performance and implement strategies to improve repayment rates.

4. Deposit Mobilization & Cross-Selling

✅ Actively attract deposits from Micro-SME & Agribusiness clients.
✅ Promote NBC’s full range of financial products and services to customers.

5. Capacity Building & Relationship Management

✅ Conduct customer training and awareness sessions on NBC’s products.
✅ Organize internal product knowledge workshops for branch staff.
✅ Maintain strong client relationships, offering advisory support to businesses.

6. Reporting & Compliance

✅ Participate in Credit Risk Committee and Loan Delinquency meetings.
✅ Prepare and submit performance reports as required by management.


Qualifications & Experience

🎓 Education Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agribusiness, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or a related field.

💡 Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Micro SME & Agribusiness Lending.
  • Strong business acumen and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and assess creditworthiness.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in digital banking solutions and financial technology trends.
  • Strong problem-solving and strategic decision-making abilities.
