Nyanza Cooperative Union (1984) LTD (NCU) is a leading Secondary Cooperative Society registered under Co-operative Societies Act No. 6 of 2013, with registration No. 4152 dated 21.04.1984. The Union is owned by 253 registered Cooperative Primary Societies within Mwanza Region and is an active member of the Tanzania Federation of Co-operatives Limited (TFC).

As one of the largest Cooperative Unions in Tanzania, NCU (1984) LTD is seeking qualified, dynamic, and results-driven individuals to fill the following vacancies:


1. Chief Accountant (1 Position)

📌 Employer: Nyanza Cooperative Union
📌 Reports To: General Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Budgeting: Prepare income, expenditure, and cash flow estimates for effective financial management.
Fund & Debt Management: Monitor debt, guide fund usage, and maintain accurate financial records.
Financial Reporting:

  • Verify and submit annual expenditure reports to the Board.
  • Prepare annual financial accounts for external auditing.
  • Submit quarterly financial statements to the Board.
    Asset & Resource Management: Supervise and manage Union assets, including buildings and fields, as directed by the Board.
    Strategic Financial Guidance: Provide financial advice to the General Manager and Board for effective fund utilization.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

📌 Education:

  • Advanced Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields.
  • Must hold an internationally recognized accountancy qualification such as CPA(T), ACCA, or CFA, registered by NBAA.

📌 Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar accounting role.

2. General Manager (1 Position)

📌 Employer: Nyanza Cooperative Union
📌 Reports To: Board of Directors

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategic Oversight: Serve as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of NCU (1984) LTD, overseeing all assets and activities in line with Union policies and regulations.
Operational Management: Ensure smooth day-to-day operations by leading various departments and units.
Human Resource & Performance Management: Develop work procedures for employees, approve staff performance reports, and ensure efficiency.
Financial & Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports to the Board.
  • Oversee budget adherence and approve financial expenditures.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts, debts, and stock warrants for cooperative members.
    Governance & Policy Implementation:
  • Translate the Cooperative Development Policy into actionable strategies.
  • Serve as Secretary to the Board, handling meetings, agreements, and contract approvals.
    Stakeholder & Communication Management: Ensure effective internal and external communication, including liaising with relevant authorities.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

📌 Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
