Job Title: SME Banker
Job Summary
As an SME Banker, you will manage and sustain a portfolio of Business Banking – Enterprise customers, fostering long-term relationships by providing reliable financial solutions. Your role will focus on:
✔ Quick risk assessments and ensuring quality service delivery.
✔ Maximizing portfolio contribution through risk-adjusted returns.
✔ Growing the business by developing relationships with new and existing clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Service (70%)
📌 Conduct annual and interim reviews of customers’ borrowing facilities.
📌 Actively grow your portfolio and cross-sell banking products to meet set targets.
📌 Provide financial guidance and risk consultation to business owners and managers.
📌 Communicate service standards, pricing, relationship contacts, and new product changes effectively.
📌 Address customer concerns and resolve complaints promptly.
📌 Recommend suitable financial products and services based on customer needs.
📌 Plan and execute marketing strategies for business development.
📌 Ensure compliance with risk service standards.
2. Business Management (25%)
📌 Identify and pursue new business opportunities based on research and prioritization.
📌 Gather and analyze financial information for credit assessments.
📌 Monitor portfolio quality using risk triggers and comply with regulatory guidelines.
📌 Manage high-risk customers on the Early Warning List, minimizing potential losses.
📌 Adhere to Business Banking Risk and Compliance guidelines.
3. Staff Coordination & Risk Management (5%)
📌 Ensure consistent service quality and risk management across the business banking portfolio.
📌 Act as a crisis coordinator in major business disruptions, allocating tasks as necessary.
📌 Regularly review and update risk and compliance profiles for effective decision-making.
📌 Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
Required Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Degree in Business, Finance, or related field (preferred).
📌 4–6 years of experience in SME banking, relationship management, or business development.
📌 Strong ability to assess financial risk and drive commercial growth.
📌 Excellent relationship-building skills with business owners and government stakeholders.
📌 Ability to work in a competitive market and drive new business opportunities.
📌 Knowledge of business banking products, services, and policies.
