Role Overview
NMB Bank PLC is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee and drive the successful execution of its strategic construction projects. The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with the bank’s quality standards.
This role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with expertise in construction project management and a strong ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Planning & Execution
✅ Define project scope, objectives, approach, and deliverables that align with business goals.
✅ Organize project definition workshops and create Project Initiation Documents (PIDs).
✅ Develop comprehensive project plans with clear activities, milestones, and ownership.
✅ Facilitate the definition and approval of business requirements and business cases.
2. Resource & Budget Management
✅ Estimate and allocate necessary resources, budget, and personnel for project execution.
✅ Ensure all costs are optimized, and projects remain within approved financial limits.
3. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
✅ Serve as Chairperson of the Project Working Committee and Secretary of the Project Steering Committee.
✅ Motivate and guide project teams, ensuring collaboration across departments.
✅ Effectively communicate project expectations to key stakeholders and senior management.
✅ Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and assumptions, escalating where necessary.
4. Quality Assurance & Compliance
✅ Ensure adherence to construction best practices and methodologies.
✅ Enforce quality assurance measures, issuing formal warnings to contractors when needed.
✅ Prepare and implement a site inspection schedule to monitor progress.
✅ Ensure compliance with project contracts and initiate corrective actions where necessary.
5. Project Closure & Handover
✅ Organize and lead project closure workshops, documenting lessons learned.
✅ Develop and oversee an effective benefits management framework for completed projects.
✅ Ensure a smooth handover to the designated maintenance and support teams.
✅ Prepare and submit a Project Closure Report for executive approval.
Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related fields.
- Postgraduate qualification in Construction Project Management or Building Economics is an added advantage.
💡 Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management.
- Strong understanding of building construction best practices and industry standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and project stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
