About the Role
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civils/Structural Engineer to oversee and ensure the successful execution of earthworks, major civil structures, and building construction projects. The ideal candidate will uphold international construction standards, safeguard the employer’s interests, and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities
🔹 Quality Assurance & Compliance
✔ Establish a collaborative relationship with the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractor to ensure the highest quality of site work.
✔ Ensure all construction activities comply with internationally accepted norms and standards.
✔ Monitor witness and hold point activities and ensure adequate resources are in place for inspections.
✔ Verify concrete strength test results, addressing any non-conformances with corrective actions.
🔹 Project Oversight & Execution
✔ Maintain oversight of earthworks, piling, mass concrete, civil works, and building construction progress.
✔ Monitor project schedules, risks, variances, and resource allocation.
✔ Ensure wastewater, effluent, and stormwater drainage systems are built for long-term functionality.
✔ Oversee molasses bladder construction in line with OEM standards.
✔ Ensure security fencing and safety structures meet project requirements.
🔹 Safety & Compliance
✔ Enforce adherence to Employer’s SHERQ standards and regulations, especially for activities at height.
✔ Prevent unnecessary EPC contractor claims related to cost variations and time extensions.
✔ Uphold anti-bribery and corruption (ABC) policies while maintaining a high ethical standard.
What We’re Looking For
✅ Education & Certification
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or Project Management.
✅ Experience & Skills
✔ 3-5+ years’ experience in large-scale mass concrete, piling, building, and structural construction projects.
✔ Strong understanding of EPC project management and implementation.
✔ Ability to interpret execution schedules and determine necessary plant and personnel resources.
✔ Experience working in diverse and multicultural environments.
