The Gaming Board of Tanzania (GBT) is a public regulatory institution established under the Gaming Act No. 4 of 2003 to oversee, monitor, and regulate gaming activities in the country. As part of our mission to maintain integrity and compliance in the industry, we are looking for a highly qualified and experienced professional to join our team as a Chief Internal Auditor.
Position: Chief Internal Auditor
Key Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
✔️ A Master’s Degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (with a major in Accounts or Finance) from a recognized institution.
✔️ A minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience, with at least two (2) years in a managerial capacity.
✔️ A recognized professional qualification such as CPA (T), ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or an equivalent certification, as accredited by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA).
✔️ Active registration as an Associate Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Public Accountant in Public Practice.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Chief Internal Auditor, you will:
- Lead and oversee the Internal Audit Unit.
- Develop, implement, and manage audit policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with GBT’s regulatory framework.
- Assess potential risk factors and recommend strategic control measures.
- Design and execute an internal audit plan to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
- Conduct in-depth reviews of business operations, financial records, and compliance with laws and policies.
- Validate the consistency of business processes and financial performance against the approved budget.
- Evaluate internal control systems and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure proper safeguarding and accountability of GBT’s assets.
- Prepare and submit comprehensive audit reports to the Board of Directors.
- Supervise and execute special investigations as required.
- Mentor, coach, and provide professional guidance to subordinate staff.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned by the Board of Directors or the Director General.
Compensation & Benefits:
💰 An attractive remuneration package will be offered in accordance with the GBT Salary Scale, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
