About the Role

As a Revenue Mobilization Advisor, you will be instrumental in strengthening revenue collection mechanisms in Tanzania. Working closely with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), you will provide expert guidance on tax reforms, digital taxpayer services, and system integration, ensuring compliance with international standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of revenue mobilization initiatives aligned with TRA’s strategic plans.
  • Offer technical expertise on tax policy, administration, and reforms.
  • Conduct research and facilitate knowledge-sharing in revenue mobilization.
  • Support data exchange and integration of national and local revenue systems.
  • Drive digital innovations for improved taxpayer services.
  • Prepare and oversee short-term expert assignments to ensure impactful results.
  • Contribute to project monitoring, evaluation, and communication efforts.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned by the management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Public Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Proven expertise in tax policy, public finance, and tax administration.
    • Strong background in tax reforms and revenue mobilization strategies.
    • Familiarity with international tax regulations and standards.
    • Excellent strategic planning, research, and data analysis capabilities.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with government institutions and international organizations.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
