Serengeti Breweries Limited (SBL) is a fully integrated beverage company under Diageo Africa, overseeing both the supply and demand for beer and spirits.
Our flagship brand, Serengeti Premium Lager, is a household name, while our diverse portfolio includes Serengeti Lite, Guinness, Pilsner, and SIB. Based in Dar es Salaam, SBL also distributes internationally renowned Diageo spirits brands such as Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Gordon’s, Baileys, and Captain Morgan.
About the Role – Regulatory Affairs Specialist
The Regulatory Affairs Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and managing key regulatory functions within SBL, ensuring compliance with all relevant authorities and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
✔️ Prepare regulatory submissions for key agencies, including TBS, OSHA, TAEC, NEMC, GCLA, Weights & Measures, and others.
✔️ Manage the registration and approvals of SBL products with regulatory bodies.
✔️ Coordinate and participate in the preparation of various regulatory documents, including product quality standards, audits, and accreditation reports.
✔️ Develop submission content, timelines, and contingencies in collaboration with internal and external teams.
✔️ Ensure that all submissions meet regulatory standards and align with corporate goals.
✔️ Provide regulatory insights and recommendations to project teams and senior management.
✔️ Liaise with government authorities and internal departments on regulatory matters.
✔️ Serve as the custodian of regulatory records and ensure compliance with all policies.
✔️ Offer strategic regulatory input for the operational strategy of SBL.
Qualifications & Experience:
🎓 Degree in Law, International Relations, Political Science, or Public Administration.
📌 4–6 years of experience in regulatory affairs or public policy advocacy.
📌 Strong knowledge of business operations and commercial strategy.
📌 Proven ability to build relationships with key government stakeholders and industry partners.
📌 Hands-on experience in regulatory affairs management within Tanzania.
Key Skills:
✅ Excellent communication and presentation skills.
✅ Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
✅ Strong project management skills, especially in implementing regulatory programs.
✅ Ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams and provide strategic guidance.
