Topographic Surveyor Job Opportunity at TANROADS
The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), under the Ministry of Works, is responsible for managing Tanzania mainland’s trunk and regional road networks and overseeing airport construction projects.
TANROADS Mwanza is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional for the position of Topographic Surveyor on a contractual basis for the Simiyu Bridge (150m) and 3km approach road construction project.
Position: Topographic Surveyor (1 Post)
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in Land Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the National Council of Professional Surveyors (NCPS) as a Professional Land Surveyor.
- A postgraduate qualification in surveying is an added advantage.
- At least 5 years of experience in surveying for road and bridge design and/or construction projects.
- Strong proficiency in both Swahili and English (written and spoken).
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate sketches, maps, and reports of completed work.
- Review and verify survey data, including measurements and calculations, for accuracy.
- Identify and locate all beacons and benchmarks to assist the contractor in setting out construction work.
- Conduct or oversee surveys to establish legal property boundaries and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Record and document survey results, including location, shape, contour, and dimensions of project areas.
- Collaborate with engineers, clients, and key stakeholders to ensure alignment of project goals.
- Calibrate and adjust surveying instruments to ensure precision and establish effective surveying procedures.
Contract Duration:
The engagement period for this position is eight (8) months.
