Properties Management Officer Vacancy – Embassy of Ireland, Dar es Salaam
The Embassy of Ireland in Dar es Salaam is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Properties Management Officer to join its Administration Team. This role is integral to ensuring the effective maintenance, functionality, and safety of Embassy properties and facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for property management, logistics, and the upkeep of Embassy premises.

Key Responsibilities
The Properties Management Officer will oversee property maintenance and ensure the smooth operation of Embassy facilities. The role includes, but is not limited to:
Ensuring all Embassy properties are well-maintained and meet health and safety standards.
Conducting regular inspections and scheduling necessary repairs with external service providers.
Managing emergency responses related to security, safety, or facility functionality.
Supervising renovation and construction projects within the Embassy properties.
Maintaining detailed records of utility usage, including electricity, water, solar installations, and generator performance.
Overseeing service contracts for office equipment maintenance, procurement of consumables, and other operational supplies.
Managing transport and logistics, including the maintenance and usage of Embassy vehicles in line with established policies.
Providing occasional backup driving support during peak operational periods.
Preparing reports on maintenance activities, safety measures, and other relevant facility matters for senior management.
Note: The Properties Management Officer will have access to an Embassy vehicle for official duties.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
A Diploma or an Advanced Level Certificate of Education.
Minimum five years of experience in a property management or maintenance role, preferably in a high-standard setting.
Strong technical knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical work, and mechanical repairs.
A valid Class C driving license with a clean record.
Required Skills & Competencies
Fluency in English and Kiswahili, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across different cultures and levels of management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and email communication.
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
Competence in using repair tools and handling maintenance tasks.
Physical capability to lift heavy equipment and work in physically demanding conditions.
A high degree of integrity, reliability, and ethical work practices.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience working with Embassies, international organizations, reputable hotels, serviced residences, or corporate property management.
Employment Terms & Benefits
Contract Type: Fixed-term contract (12 months), including a probationary period.
Location: Embassy of Ireland, Dar es Salaam.
Salary: TSH 2,529,950 per month / TSH 32,889,348 annually (inclusive of a 13th-month salary).

Taxation: Salaries are subject to tax deductions and paid directly to a bank account.

Selection Process
