Key Responsibilities
📌 Tax Compliance & Reporting
✔️ Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns accurately and on time.
✔️ Manage the company’s tax compliance calendar to meet all deadlines.
✔️ Stay updated on tax regulations and assess their impact on company operations.
✔️ Resolve tax-related issues and discrepancies promptly.
📊 Tax Planning & Strategy
✔️ Assist in developing and executing tax strategies to minimize liabilities and optimize financial positions.
✔️ Provide expert tax guidance on business transactions and investment opportunities.
📜 Audit Support & Risk Management
✔️ Coordinate and manage tax audits conducted by regulatory authorities.
✔️ Prepare documentation and offer support throughout audit processes.
✔️ Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other regulatory guidelines.
📈 Financial Reporting & Process Improvement
✔️ Support the preparation of tax-related financial statement disclosures.
✔️ Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax reporting.
✔️ Identify and implement efficiency improvements in tax reporting and compliance processes.
🤝 Communication & Collaboration
✔️ Liaise with external tax advisors and consultants to ensure compliance.
✔️ Collaborate with internal teams to align on tax-related financial matters.
⚡ Additional Responsibilities
✔️ Support the Head of Finance with various accounting tasks.
✔️ Ensure full compliance with local regulatory bodies (BOT, TRA, Ministry of Finance).
✔️ Keep up with evolving international accounting standards to maximize compliance opportunities.
Who We're Looking For
🎯 Must-Have Qualifications & Skills
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
✅ 3-5 years of experience in tax accounting (corporate or public accounting preferred).
✅ Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (preferred but not mandatory).
✅ Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws & regulations.
✅ Proficiency in tax software & accounting tools (SAP preferred).
✅ Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational ability.
✅ Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
✅ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
✅ High ethical standards, commitment to confidentiality, and deadline-oriented mindset.
💡 Bonus Points (Preferred but Not Required)
✅ Experience handling international tax compliance & regulatory matters.
✅ Exposure to African tax environments and industry-specific tax frameworks.
✅ Prior experience in logistics, commodities, or energy industries.
