🌟 Job Purpose
Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is seeking a Category Buyer to drive effective local procurement, ensuring optimal contract buying strategies and seamless purchasing operations. The successful candidate will play a key role in procurement planning, supplier management, and process optimization to support the company’s strategic growth.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
✅ Procurement Execution & Planning:
- Oversee and manage day-to-day purchasing using an automated procurement system.
- Execute off-contract procurement transactions efficiently.
- Analyze procurement data to identify areas for optimization and cost savings.
- Ensure strict compliance with procurement policies, audit requirements, and SHERQ standards.
✅ Supplier & Contract Management:
- Lead supplier performance management for non-contracted vendors.
- Build and maintain a network of reliable suppliers to meet business needs.
- Partner with contract management, buyers, and expeditors to enhance vendor relationships.
- Engage with line managers to evaluate and improve supplier service quality.
✅ Compliance & End-User Support:
- Ensure adherence to MID catalogue specifications for procurement processes.
- Support and coach end-users to ensure a smooth procurement workflow.
🔹 Required Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education:
✔ Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field.
📌 Experience & Skills:
✔ 3+ years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management.
✔ Strong technical understanding of procurement processes and best practices.
✔ Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships and drive supplier performance.
