About the Role

Are you a creative and strategic thinker with a passion for event planning and fundraising? We’re seeking a Fundraising Event Associate to lead the development, execution, and success of our flagship fundraising event in September 2025. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, excels in stakeholder engagement, and is driven to make a difference.

Key Responsibilities

🎉 Event Planning & Execution

  • Conceptualize and develop a compelling event theme aligned with Asante Africa’s mission.
  • Design and manage a detailed event roadmap, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish.
  • Oversee logistics, including venue selection, entertainment, catering, permits, and guest experience.

✍️ Proposal Development & Sponsorship Acquisition

  • Craft persuasive event proposals and sponsorship packages that effectively communicate Asante Africa’s impact.
  • Develop tailored pitches for corporate sponsors, foundations, and individual donors.
  • Drive fundraising efforts, ensuring sponsorship goals are met.

🤝 Donor & Sponsor Engagement

  • Identify, research, and cultivate relationships with potential donors, sponsors, and partners.
  • Act as the primary liaison for sponsors, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.
  • Coordinate follow-ups and negotiations to secure financial and in-kind contributions.

📢 Marketing & Promotion

  • Work alongside the communications team to create high-impact marketing materials (social media, email campaigns, flyers).
  • Implement creative event promotion strategies to maximize participation and donor engagement.
  • Mobilize Asante Africa’s network of supporters, alumni, and ambassadors to boost outreach.

💰 Budget & Fundraising Targets

  • Develop and manage the event budget, ensuring cost efficiency while maximizing impact.
  • Set and track fundraising goals, providing real-time progress updates to leadership.

📊 Collaboration & Reporting

  • Partner with internal fundraising and leadership teams to align the event with organizational objectives.
  • Provide detailed event performance reports, including key takeaways and recommendations for future fundraising initiatives.

Who We’re Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Communications, Marketing, or related fields.
  • 2–3 years of proven experience in event planning, fundraising, or nonprofit development, particularly with large-scale events.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Exceptional creativity and strategic event planning abilities.
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills for compelling proposals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to engage donors and sponsors.
  • Experience with event management tools (e.g., Eventbrite) and donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
