Job Overview

Exim Bank Tanzania is seeking dynamic and results-driven Relationship Managers to drive business growth, build lasting client relationships, and maximize revenue through the sale of liabilities, acquisitions, cash management, credit cards, and retail banking products. This role requires a proactive and customer-centric approach to boost portfolio growth and achieve sales targets.


Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the first point of contact for assigned clients, providing personalized banking services.

  • Grow CASA (Current Account & Savings Account), FD (Fixed Deposits), and Asset portfolios in line with set targets.

  • Conduct periodic account reviews, advising customers on financial solutions tailored to their needs.

Business Growth & Sales Performance

  • Acquire new customers while maintaining and growing the existing portfolio.

  • Meet and exceed sales and revenue targets for retail banking products.

  • Identify cross-selling opportunities to optimize customer engagement and maximize business potential.

Strategic Sales Management

  • Develop and maintain a structured sales and queries management database for performance tracking and improvement.

  • Work closely with branch managers to identify key market opportunities and challenges, offering professional insights.

  • Leverage client referrals to onboard new customers and expand the bank’s footprint.

Product Knowledge & Advisory Services

  • Stay up to date with all Exim Bank products and services to provide informed financial solutions to clients.

  • Prepare position reports for branch managers, analyzing customer trends and business performance.


Qualifications & Experience Required

🎓 Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Relevant banking and finance professional certifications are an added advantage.

📌 Experience & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in retail banking or a similar role.

  • Proven expertise in structured trade finance, syndication, and project financing (preferred).

  • Strong knowledge of retail banking products (liabilities, cash management, credit cards, acquisitions, etc.).

  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a track record of achieving revenue targets.

  • Tech-savvy with proficiency in banking software and digital banking trends.

  • Highly self-motivated, confident, and able to thrive in a competitive environment.
