About the Role
As an Assistant Accountant-Credit Control, you will be responsible for managing cash flow, reconciling client accounts, and ensuring prompt resolution of any queries. You will work closely with our internal teams and external stakeholders, such as brokers, agents, banks, and customers, ensuring adherence to the company's credit control policies.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a structured environment, has a keen interest in insurance, and is ready to contribute to the financial well-being of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor customer accounts daily, ensuring adherence to the "cash before cover" policy, and manage premium collections.
- Customer Retention & Loyalty: Ensure timely commission payments and handle premium verification before claims processing.
- Account Reconciliation: Allocate daily receipts to customer accounts, reconcile intermediary balances, and liaise with underwriters for timely postings.
- Premium Collection: Support initiatives that focus on premium collection and address credit control issues across branches.
- Reporting & Query Resolution: Respond immediately to customer and agency queries, send reconciled commission reports by the first week of each month, and ensure outstanding statements are sent by the 10th of each month.
Key Performance Indicators
- Debtors ratio and timely reconciliation of balances.
- Turnaround time for commission payments and receipt allocation.
- Ensuring all customer queries are resolved promptly.
