Role Overview:
We are searching for a Category Manager who will take charge of managing a product category at Wasoko. This pivotal role involves crafting the strategy, driving growth, developing pricing tactics, and managing promotions to maximize consumer appeal. The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with vendors and handle product range management, ensuring that our retail partners get the best possible deals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market and Data Analysis: Analyze data to identify industry and consumer trends, ensuring product offerings align with market demands.
  • Field Insights: Conduct regular market visits to gather feedback and understand the needs of retailers and customers.
  • Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating business development agreements that align with company goals.
  • Strategic Growth: Develop long-term strategies for growing brands and expanding vendor relationships.
  • Pricing Strategies: Create competitive pricing strategies for products, aligning them with market trends to maximize profitability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing, marketplace, and planning teams to ensure product strategies are well executed.
  • Portfolio Management: Manage the product portfolio, devising exit strategies for underperforming products.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in category management, marketing, or sales.
  • Strong knowledge of category management principles.
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and accurately analyze market trends.
  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion skills to build strong vendor relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with an analytical mindset.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
