Position Overview
Position Title: Officer 2 - Emergency Response
Department: Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
Contract Type: Unspecified Time Contract
Reporting To: ERT Supervisor

Purpose of the Role:
The Officer 2 - Emergency Response will ensure the Geita Gold Mine's operations are safeguarded against emergencies. This role involves maintaining an emergency response program that meets international standards while ensuring timely and cost-effective operations.
Key Qualifications
- Education: Ordinary Secondary Education or higher.
- Certification: A certificate in mine rescue operations from an accredited authority.
- Experience: At least 3 years of experience in mining operations, focusing on open and underground rescue fields.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Responding promptly to emergencies on site.
- Actively participating in training for rescue team members and mine employees, including contractors.
- Serving as a dedicated member of the mine rescue team.
- Conducting regular inspections of emergency equipment like fire extinguishers, hydrants, and fire panels.
- Ensuring compliance with critical control standards and management objectives.
Additional Requirements
- Expertise in Fire Fighting, Rope Rescue, HAZMAT handling, SCBA, Vehicle Extrication, and Confined Space Rescue.
- A valid driving license (Class E) is required.
