At Railway Children Africa (RCA), our mission is more than just words—it’s a calling, a cause, and a relentless pursuit to transform the lives of children living on the streets. We’re united by a shared vision to create a brighter future for these vulnerable young souls, and we believe that change is not only possible, but inevitable when passionate people come together. This October, we’re extending an opportunity for driven individuals to join our cause as Project Assistants, with 4 full-time positions available in Mwanza and Dar es Salaam.
Why Railway Children Africa?
At RCA, we are more than just an organization; we are a movement of warriors dedicated to changing the world, one child at a time. Our passion drives us to work harder each day for the children we serve. Street-connected youth are at risk of exploitation, poverty, and abuse, but we refuse to stand by and watch. Our energy, optimism, and determination fuel our mission to be the safety net for these children, offering them hope, skills, and a path to a better future.
If you're ready to make a tangible difference in the lives of these young individuals, we invite you to consider becoming part of our team.
About the Role: Project Assistant - Economic Strengthening and Livelihood
As a Project Assistant, you’ll be at the forefront of change, playing a key role in empowering street-connected youth and at-risk out-of-school youth. Your work will directly support these individuals in their journey toward becoming self-sufficient, productive members of society. You'll do this by helping them acquire critical entrepreneurial and vocational skills, and by promoting leadership and positive behavioral changes. The aim? To give them the tools they need to secure a decent livelihood and build a future that once seemed out of reach.
But your role doesn’t stop there. You’ll also be tasked with building relationships with key stakeholders—communities, organizations, and policymakers—to provide holistic support to the youth we serve. The goal is to ensure they not only survive but thrive.
Who Are We Looking For?
The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate, flexible, and ready to rise to the challenge of working with some of the most vulnerable populations in Tanzania. You should have a heart for helping street-connected youth and a desire to see them flourish. You’ll need to be adaptable, as no two days will be the same in this dynamic role.
If you're driven by a desire to leave a lasting positive impact, this position will offer you a deeply fulfilling career.
