The Role: Financial Controller
As a Financial Controller at Dar es Salaam Serena Hotel, you will play a key role in managing the financial operations of the hotel. Your responsibility will be to ensure the accuracy of financial records, oversee compliance with regulations, and provide financial insights to help guide strategic business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement long-term financial strategies aligned with business objectives
- Collaborate with department heads to optimize costs, enhance revenue, and improve profitability
- Ensure the hotel complies with all accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements
- Analyze financial data and trends to support informed decision-making by management
- Lead the budgeting process and ensure expenditures stay within budgeted limits
- Implement internal controls to protect the company’s assets
- Manage audits and address findings with both internal and external auditors
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative, results-oriented environment
What You Need to Succeed:
- Professional accounting qualifications (CPA/ACCA) and membership with the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA)
- At least 8 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the hospitality or hotel industry
- An undergraduate degree in a related field is an added advantage
