Introduction SNV Tanzania, a leading non-profit development organization, is currently hiring a Senior Field Intern for a one-year internship, starting December 1, 2024. This position offers the chance to work on impactful water resource management (WRM) projects alongside a dynamic team, supporting local communities in the Katavi Region.

In Tanzania, SNV has implemented numerous projects to improve lives through innovative and inclusive solutions. The organization’s latest initiative, the IKI Katuma Project, aims to enhance water management and resilience in Tanzania’s Katavi Region.                                                                                                                  Job Description The Senior Field Intern will play a vital role in supporting field activities under the guidance of SNV's Senior WRM Advisor. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Logistics Support: Assist with project coordination tasks, including meeting logistics, procurement requests, and travel arrangements.                                   
  2. Technical and Outreach Assistance: Support the planning and implementation of outreach programs to increase community awareness on WRM, and contribute to the development of educational materials.     
  3. Documentation and Evaluation: Document field activities, evaluate community engagement, and assist with monitoring and evaluation (M&E) tasks.

Qualifications Ideal candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, water engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in WRM-related projects.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office, hydrology-related software, and basic report writing.

Experience with organizing events, preparing budgets, and handling project logistics.


Key Skills and Attributes

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a multicultural setting.
  • Experience in creating content for outreach and social media.
