Overall Purpose of the Role:
The GBV PSS Officer will work under the direct supervision of the GBV Team Leader, with guidance from the Protection Coordinator and Protection Manager. The role involves conducting regular field visits to the host villages near Nyarugusu and Nduta refugee camps. The Officer will engage with diverse groups, including women, men, boys, and girls from both the refugee camps and local communities, providing essential case management services to GBV survivors and affected beneficiaries.
Experience: 1-2 years in protection, preferably with an international humanitarian organization.
Field experience in emergency contexts is highly desirable.
Knowledge in case management and referral-related activities.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a proactive problem-solving attitude.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
External: Refugees, donors, local government, and host community representatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, confidential case management services in line with DRC's SOPs.
- Conduct referrals to relevant services and ensure appropriate follow-up and case closure.
- Offer counseling for survivors referred to case management services.
- Implement case management in safe spaces, collaborating with survivors.
- Manage GBV data using the Gender-Based Violence Information Management System (GBVIMS).
- Facilitate emotional support group sessions for survivors.
- Deliver basic GBV training to community structures, emphasizing core concepts and safe identification of GBV cases.
- Monitor and evaluate GBV-related projects and interventions.
- Identify needs and gaps in GBV programming through community engagement.
- Participate in community services and advocate for gender inclusion and safety considerations.
- Ensure adherence to confidentiality and a survivor-centered approach in all case management activities.
- Collaborate with community workers to raise awareness and facilitate referrals for GBV protection-related needs.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports on GBV PSS activities.
Experience and Technical Competencies:
Experience: 1-2 years in protection, preferably with an international humanitarian organization.Field experience in emergency contexts is highly desirable.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or a relevant field from a recognized institution.Languages:
Good proficiency in written and spoken English and Swahili; knowledge of Kirundi is an advantage.Key Stakeholders:
