The Role: Head of Finance
As the Head of Finance, you will be at the helm of BRAC’s financial operations in Tanzania. Your role will involve strategic decision-making, ensuring financial sustainability, and supporting the organization's impactful programs. Here’s what the position entails:
Key Responsibilities
1. Leadership in Finance and Accounting:
Oversee the financial management systems and ensure compliance with policies.
Manage payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and cash flow operations effectively.
2. Project Financial Oversight:
Ensure accurate cost allocation and compliance with donor agreements.
Monitor project financial performance and ensure timely reporting.
3. Strategic Decision Support:
Provide financial insights to guide organizational strategy and sustainability.
Participate in long-term planning and risk management.
4. Audit and Compliance:
Coordinate with external auditors and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Address audit recommendations to improve financial processes.
5. Capacity Building:
Lead and mentor the finance team to foster a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Education & Certifications
- Master’s/MBA in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
- Professional certifications like ACPA (T), ACCA, or CIMA are mandatory.
Experience & Skills
- 8–10 years in finance leadership, preferably in an international NGO setting.
- Expertise in IAS/IFRS standards, budgeting, auditing, and donor compliance.
- Proficiency in financial systems (ERP) and software applications.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Resilience and adaptability in dynamic environments.
