About the Role
As a Supervisory Public Health Specialist, you'll manage various health initiatives for the CDC’s Division of Global HIV and Tuberculosis (DGHT). This role goes beyond typical public health responsibilities, as you'll be leading strategies, implementing projects, and creating new policies to improve health outcomes within the region.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
- Developing and Leading Health Programs: Plan and evaluate public health programs, oversee initiatives focused on HIV prevention, care, and treatment, and ensure that these align with CDC goals.
- Collaborating with Partners: Work closely with local and international health partners to support and adapt programs that meet the region’s unique needs.
- Managing Resources and Teams: Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary team, overseeing both human and financial resources to meet public health objectives.
- Data Analysis and Program Evaluation: Develop strategies and tools for monitoring and evaluating program performance, helping to drive improvements through data-driven insights.
Required Qualifications and Skills
To be considered for this role, applicants should meet the following requirements:
Educational Background: A doctoral degree in public health, medicine, epidemiology, or a related field.
Experience: At least 4 years of experience in public health, with a focus on developing and managing health programs. Additionally, 1 year of managerial experience overseeing international projects is essential.
Language Skills: Fluent in English and Kiswahili (written and spoken) to effectively communicate with local and international stakeholders.
Knowledge of Public Health Systems: Comprehensive knowledge of public health issues, regulations, and the health care landscape in Tanzania, including Ministry of Health policies and priorities.
